This World Heritage listed area comprises the oldest continuous rainforest area in the world.

It encompasses the spectacular Mossman Gorge, an ideal picnic and swimming spot; the Daintree River, a natural habitat for estuarine crocodiles, birds and animals and the picturesque Cape Tribulation region, a unique area in the world where the rainforest comes down to the sand and meets the fringing reef.

After visiting Mossman Gorge, take a fascinating boat ride along the Daintree River from the Daintree Village, a quaint little village featuring cafes, art galleries and a country style “pub”.

Cross the Daintree River ferry to Cape Tribulation where you can go horse riding on the beach, sea kayaking off the beach, or climb to the knoll of Cape Tribulation for amazing panoramic views over the Coral Sea and Great Barrier Reef.

On the way home stop off at the Daintree Ice Cream Company to buy superb locally produced ice cream, and pick up some exotic tropical fruits from Scomazzon’s Road side stall just north of Mossman.
